The Criminal Justice System – separating myth from reality

Millennium Library – Carol Shields Auditorium

251 Donald Street

Thursday, April 9:  6:30 – 8:30 pm

We hear a lot about Canada’s criminal justice system, but how much do we really understand?

Join lawyer Jeff Gindin for a criminal law town hall, where he will help to dispel some misconceptions and answer questions like:  How can a lawyer defend someone he knows is guilty?  What is plea bargaining and why is it used?  How do judges decide sentences and what causes wrongful convictions to occur.

Presented by Winnipeg Public Library in conjunction with Community Legal Education Association
