Our presenter is Robert Dawson.
Robert is a lawyer who practices in Winnipeg at Dawson Law Chambers, chiefly focusing upon civil and commercial litigation, administrative and regulatory law, and professional governance and discipline.
He was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1991 after receiving degrees from the University of Toronto and University of Oxford. He began his practice at one of Winnipeg’s largest law firms before serving a term as legal counsel to the judges of the Manitoba Court of Appeal.
He has received numerous awards for his volunteer legal work, including the Manitoba Bar Association’s Pro Bono Award and the World Sikh Organization’s Volunteer Recognition Award for legal services provided in a case about freedom of religion before the Supreme Court of Canada.
Robert has taught legal ethics at the University of Manitoba Law School, and he has held appointments as a tribunal member of the Manitoba Health Appeal Board and an adjudicator of human rights complaints in Manitoba.
