Youth Criminal Justice Webinar

Join us for an overview of Youth Criminal Justice with our presenter Candace Olson.

Candace graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2009 with a degree in History and Sociology, and completed a second degree in Criminology and Native Studies in 2010. She attended the University of North Dakota for her first year of law before transferring to University of Manitoba to complete her degree, graduating in 2013.

Candace received her call to the bar in 2014 and practice primarily in the area of Criminal Law at the firm of Smith Corona Van Dongen and Cook. Prior to joining Smith Corona Van Dongen & Cook, she articled for Brodsky and Company and worked for several years at Martin White Manning Newman.

Candace’s practice includes working on a variety of criminal charges for both Youth and Adult accused, ranging from property offences, violent offences, sexual offences, impaired driving, drug and weapons offences, and homicide. She also assist with quasi-criminal matters, matters before the Manitoba Criminal Code Review Board, and in the area of Child Protection.

Candace is a member of the Criminal Defence Lawyers’ Association of Manitoba and has served as a board member for Macdonald Youth Services for the past several years. Prior to attending law school she also worked as a Youth Care Practitioner with Macdonald Youth Services.
